Overview

Sunday Sluggers ("the App", "the Service") is a baseball and softball app for scoring games, tracking stats, and generating media about your games. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Using the Service also means agreeing to our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. You may optionally provide a display name.

Player Profile Information

You (or your team's organizer, for rosters they manage) may provide:

• Name (first and last)
• Jersey number
• Profile photo (stored in cloud storage)
• Batting/throwing preference and fielding positions
• Name pronunciation (for the PA announcer feature)
• Walk-up song selection (title, artist — sourced from iTunes)

Game Data

When games are scored using the App, we collect:

• Game scores, at-bat outcomes, pitch counts, and play-by-play data (including batted-ball locations and fielding positions)
• Player statistics derived from game data
• MVP and award votes, post-game interview responses, and comments
• Game photos and highlight captions added by your team
• Game schedules and RSVPs, including field names and addresses entered by organizers

Device Information

• Push notification tokens (to send game notifications)
• Device type (for Live Activity support)
• Crash and error reports (via Sentry) so we can fix bugs — these may include your account ID and email so we can investigate issues you report

Usage Analytics

We record feature-usage events (such as when a game card is shared) in our own database to understand how the App is used. Publicly shared game pages record an anonymous view count — no cookies, no IP addresses, and no identifiers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

We Do NOT Collect

• Your device's location (the App never requests location permission; game field locations are typed in by organizers)
• Contacts or address book data
• Browsing history or data from other apps
• Advertising identifiers — there are no ads and no ad SDKs in the App

Generated Media

Sunday Sluggers turns your scorebook into media: written game recaps, podcast-style audio episodes, post-game interview questions, PA announcements, and shareable game cards. To do this, game data — including player names and statistics — is sent to the AI and audio services listed under Third-Party Services below. Generated media can mention participants by name and describe their performance.

• Consent: The organizer who creates a team represents that their roster is OK with games being recorded and media being generated about them — and for youth teams, that each player's parent or guardian has given permission. See our Terms of Service.
• Opt-out: Any player can opt out of generated media at any time from their profile in the App. Opted-out players are excluded from newly generated recaps, episodes, and interview content. Walk-up and PA announcements — your name and number read at the plate during a game — are part of playing, not published media, and are not affected by the opt-out.
• Removal: If you appear in Sunday Sluggers media and want out — whether or not you have an account — email support@sundaysluggers.com and we will honor your opt-out and remove existing media that names you. See Support.
• Youth protections: Generated media about youth teams gets extra guardrails: struggling kids are not named in recaps or episodes, strikeout counts are not attributed to kids, and post-game interview questions go to coaches, not children. Shareable cards for youth games use first name and last initial only and never include player photos.

Shared Game Pages

Team members can share a game as a link (sundaysluggers.com/g/…). Anyone who has the link can read the page — no account or login is required. Shared pages are unlisted: there is no public directory and the links are not listed in search engines. A recipient can forward a link to someone else, who can also open it. Organizers can turn sharing off. Shared pages show the game story and scores — and, when available, the generated audio episode — never emails, account IDs, or contact information. Youth game pages carry the youth protections described above.

How We Use Your Information

• Game scoring and statistics: To record games, calculate stats, and display leaderboards to your team
• Generated media: As described above
• Walk-up announcements: Player names, pronunciations, and jersey numbers are used to generate PA audio via text-to-speech
• Notifications: Push notifications and transactional emails about game events, schedules, MVP voting, and recaps — you can manage email preferences from any email footer, and push notifications in your device settings
• Profile display: To show your profile to other members of your team
• Reliability: Crash reports help us find and fix bugs

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. Database access is controlled through row-level security policies that restrict access to authorized users.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage
• Anthropic (Claude): AI generation of recaps, podcast scripts, and interview questions from game data
• ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech for PA announcements and podcast audio
• Transloadit: Audio processing for podcast episodes
• Render: Audio rendering infrastructure for podcast episodes
• Resend: Transactional email delivery
• Sentry: Crash and error reporting
• Apple iTunes Search API: Walk-up song search and preview
• Google Places: Field lookup when organizers schedule games
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Push notifications (iOS)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Push notifications (Android)

These services process data only as needed to provide the features described above. We do not sell your data to any third party.

Data Retention

Your account and game data are retained as long as your account is active. Player statistics persist across seasons to maintain career records. You can delete your account from within the App (Profile → Delete Account) or by contacting us; deletion removes your account and associated personal data.

Children's Privacy

Accounts require users to be at least 13. Youth players typically do not have accounts: their profiles (name, jersey number) are created and managed by an adult organizer, who represents that each child's parent or guardian has consented (see Terms of Service). Parents can review their child's information through the team's organizer, opt their child out of generated media, or contact us at any time to have their child's information corrected or deleted.

Your Rights

You may:

• Access your personal data through the App
• Update your profile information at any time
• Opt out of generated media from your profile
• Delete your account and data (in-App, or by request)
• Manage email preferences (link in every email) and push notifications (device settings)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the App or on our website.
